The purpose of my new site is to share with the reader about who I am and what my future endeavors are, as well as inform him or her about pertinent information that may be of some interest. CASSIE'S BIOGRAPHICAL SKETCH: Cassandra Roberson Kelley aka "Cassie" was born on September 26, 1963 to the parentage of Carrie and Varney Roberson, from whom she inherited both rhythm and song. She has two older sisters, Sheila A. Phillips and Melissa C. Harden, and a younger sister, Vanessa L. Roberson. Cassandra is married to Walter Kelley and has three children: Crystal Renee' Kelley, Vincent Jerell Kelley, and Xavier Darnell Kelley. Her two Godsons, Dante' Keith Oliver and Rodney Dwayne Oliver, are the sons of her best friend and mentor, Sharon Oliver, who is a missionary, evangelist, Godmother of Xavier, and the founder of Women of Nobility. Cassie is a faithful member of Holy Tabernacle Church of God in Christ, 2800 E. Loop 820 South, Fort Worth, TX, where Superintendent Robert L. Sample is the pastor. She was saved (spiritually reborn) and baptized at an early age. After serving as Assistant Choir Director under her mother, since the age of 15, and two other Ministers of Music, who succeeded her mother, Cassie was appointed Head Choir Director of the Holy Tabernacle COGIC Sanctuary Choir in January of 1991. She also serves with the Adult Praise Team and occasionally renders sermonic solos. Formerly a member of the Texas Northeast First Jurisdiction, presided by Bishop J. Neaul Haynes, 2nd Administrative Assistant to the Presiding Bishop G. E. Patterson of COGIC, Inc. and pastor of Saintsville Church of God in Christ in Dallas, TX, Cassie followed her pastor, who is Superintendent of New Birth District, and united with Texas Northwest Jurisdiction, which is presided by Bishop William H. Watson, Sr. of Lubbock, TX. On June 27, 1993 the late Betty Hawley, former music coordinator of Texas Northeast First Jurisdiction, presented Cassie with a Song Is Born award for her original composition, "I Know Who You Represent." Cassie continues to fellowship with the jurisdiction, in her spare time. Down through the years Cassie has sung as a background vocalist and lead singer for various groups and choirs within the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex, which included: The Living Lights, which her "play" sister, Tamela Mann, with whom she shares the same middle name, "Jean," was also a part, under the direction of Mark Sample, Tamela's cousin, son of Pastor Robert L. Sample; Rebirth, under the direction of Rev. Alvin Pope of Fort Worth, TX; Texas Community Choir, under the direction of Rev. Milton Pace of Fort Worth, TX; The Sounds of a New Era, under the direction of Min. Willie Stewart, Jr. of Dallas, TX; God's Company, under the direction of the late Rev. James Moore, during his brief stay in Dallas, TX; DFW Mass Choir, which Cassie directed the song, "I Praise Him," written by her father and lead by her mother, on the choir's first recording; Ricky Womack & Partners in Praise, under the direction of the late Min. Ricky Womack of Dallas, TX; and the Anointed New Creations Choir, under the direction of Rev. Robert L. Redding, Jr. of Fort Worth, TX. As a soloist Cassie has been invited to sing at countless musicals, anniversary and appreciation services, weddings, banquets, and funerals. Her desire has never been to seek prestige, fortune, or fame, but to share her God-given gifts to inspire, encourage, uplift, and bring comfort to others. She describes it as, "giving back to God what He so graciously gave to me." Currently, Cassie is making preparations to become a solo recording artist and to develop and organize Soul-Search Music Ministries for future music conferences, etc. She also plans to submit some of her original compositions to other professional gospel recording artists, to help spread the gospel of Jesus Christ and push the kingdom of God forward. Cassie's greatest musical influence, besides her mother, is the late Dr. Mattie Moss-Clark. She often senses the spiritual presence of Dr. Clark in her own songs, such as: "Jesus Is That Grace," "I Know Who You Represent," "He's the Great Emmanuel," "He's Risen," "Submit to God," "Holiness Is Right," "Your Deliverance Is Soon to Come," and "Get Out In the Name of Jesus," to name a few. The Clark Sisters are also an inspiration, because of their unique vocal abilities and God's anointing upon their lives.
