About Me: I am a devoted wife, the mother of one daughter and two sons, and the Godmother of two Godsons. In May of 1982 I graduated from Eastern Hills High School in Fort Worth, TX and attended one of two years at Texas Court Reporting College in Haltom City. The college is no longer there. I decided not to continue to pursue a career in court reporting, because during that time in my life, I found it difficult to remain focused while the inspiration to write songs flooded my mind.
My basic temperament is melancholy. Like anybody else, I have great strengths, as well as a few weaknesses. My greatest strength is my loyalty to that which I commit myself to; and my greatest weakness is being hypersensitive. That's why it is so essential that I have balance in my life. I consider myself to be a "work in progress," but it can and will be done.
As a Christian I solely depend upon God the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost to forgive my sins, redeem my soul, and empower me to live a holy and sanctified life, set apart for God's purpose and glory. I am nothing of myself; it's by the grace of God. Though I can never repay Him for all He's done for me, I owe Him all of me.
Music: Gospel music is my passion! As a singer (soloist, background and lead vocalist), songwriter, choir director, and drummer, I enjoy using these gifts and talents to inspire, encourage, and uplift others. My greatest musical influence, besides my mother, is the late Dr. Mattie Moss Clark. Her daughters, the world-renown Clark Sisters are also an inspiration. Dorinda Clark-Cole is my favorite female vocalist, and Donnie McClurkin is my favorite male vocalist. Music that's filled with spirit and anointing is very therapeutic for me. Combine that with God's Word, and you got me--"hook, line, and sinker!"
Movies: My favorite movie is, "Driving Miss Daisy," starring Jessica Tandy and Morgan Freeman. I prefer comedies over any other category. My family and I enjoy going to the movies at least twice a month. Movies, especially good, wholesome movies, are a great way to escape, relax, listen, and learn. I detest horror flicks and movies full of unnecessary bad language and violence! It doesn't have to be bad to be good!
TV: When I'm not watching Christian television, I mostly watch game shows, news programs, and court/legal dramas. Occasionally, I tune in to interesting sitcoms. The late Lucille Ball is my favorite comedian of all time. Next in line is Carol Burnett.
Books: Reading is my absolute favorite pastime! Whenever possible I enjoy visiting the public library and various bookstores to explore things outside of my own little world. I read the Bible, self-help books, poetry, and autobiographies. My favorite author is Dr. Joyce Meyer.
Likes: Color: RED; Food: Seafood; Beverage: Tea (preferably green tea);
Sport: Volleyball;
Flower: Tulips
Dislikes: Laziness, whining, arrogance, discord, confusion
Hobbies: Collecting coffee mugs, solving logic puzzles, walking, bicycling, traveling
Vices: Often hard-to-please (looking for perfection in an imperfect world!)
Virtues: Caring, delightful, disciplined, faithful, loving, loyal, persistent, self-sacrificing, sensitive, thoughtful, trustworthy
Heroes: JESUS CHRIST (#1!), Mrs. Carrie Roberson, the late Dr. Mattie Moss-Clark, Dr. Joyce Meyer, Dr. Juanita Bynum Weeks
